Celebration is more important now than ever before. As we find our way through this pandemic, hopefully stronger than before, it’s time for us to celebrate ourselves, our work, our passion, and our entire field. It’s celebration that we need not only in this moment, but to propel us forward. As early childhood professionals the idea of celebration has always guided us, whether we’re thinking of holidays or life cycle events or perhaps even milestones – and now, we will set our shared intention for the year as celebration, or chagiga. Even when it feels hard, or the path feels unpaved, or things seem more challenging than ever before – these are the times we need to work even harder to find moments to celebrate, to move ourselves forward joyfully and intentionally. Chagiga is the focal point of a shared resource for the field, currently being curated with varied resources, honoring all perspectives while elevating this intention. This resource will be shared in the coming months, and will feature articles, podcasts, personal reflections and narratives, quotes, questions and provocations, and more. Please share any contributions with Sarah at [email protected], and stay tuned for the big release! Click HERE to see the first source sheet we have released for chagiga. |
